On February 13th, I had the honor of serving as one of three judges for the 2019 North Park Lions Club Student Speakers Contest.
This local event is one of many occurring as part of the Multiple District Four California Lions Clubs Student Speakers Contest.
This contest contributes to the development of our country’s future leaders. It helps students learn the craft of researching, writing, and delivering amazing presentations. It also instills the courage and confidence to engage in public discourse and defend what they believe.
This year’s topic was “Freedom of the Press; What Does It Mean?” I was inspired by the talent and passion demonstrated by each of the high school students in the competition. May they continue on the path of excellence.
